Okay guys, confession time. I'm totally and completely obsessed with pancake art. Have you seen it? I came across some in the past few months via Instagram, and watching the videos of how they make them are mesmerizing (for me at least, I'm easy to entertain). My favorite is Dr. Dan the Pancake Man (find him on Insta @dancakes). He is off the charts awesome!

I love making royal icing cookies, that was my obsession in 2015, and I feel like pancake art is quite similar in many ways, so I thought I'd give i...

My favorite season of the year is here, and even though it may not feel like it (hello 80 degree temps), you can't help but get into the fall spirit with pumpkins everywhere you look. We made our very first trip to Louisburg Cider Mill this year. It's one of those fall traditions that, according to almost anyone in KC, you just have to experience, and it did not disappoint.

I packed up my Rebekah Scott Designs Melissa bag with all the essentials for the day. With an abundance of space inside, and t...

You guys, I'm so excited to share a look at the Valentine's Day Collection that I created just for your sweet kiddos. I know, I know, some people think Valentine's Day is a made up holiday meant to sell greeting cards, candy, and jewelry. But in todays fast paced world I look at it as a day to stop and make sure that the people I love know it! Whether it be my husband, my kids, or my family and friends.

Whenever I create a collection I try to make it modern, but of course fun, and whimsical, and you do...

Sometimes people come into your lives, and you feel lucky to have them. Rebecca Peters is one of those people. Not only is she a talented photographer, but I'm also happy to call her my friend. We've known about each other for years via the wedding industry, but started to chat more when we discovered our E girls (as we call them) were born just a month apart. She specializes in shooting beautiful lifestyle photography for families. When she asked me to collaborate with her by doing some floral styling...

I love ice cream, and I love flowers, and I love parties. So how to combine all of those things? An ice cream social with adorable themed floral decor of course! I was recently on the local news morning show, Better Kansas City, and they wanted me to create some non-traditional floral projects that didn't require a vase. I came up with the apple vase DIY I shared last week, these ice cream cones, and a few others, and I wanted to share the how to's over here on the blog. This little DIY is so incredibly...

Ahhhh, it's that time of year once again, back to school. I know I have such fond memories of this time of year from when I was a kid. Getting to see your friends after summer, meeting the new kids, and your teachers for the first time. I was a teach for two years, and I definitely got lots of awesome gifts, most of them food (hey I'm not complaining). But if there's one thing I would have loved it would be fresh flowers. I thought that this adorable, and super easy back to school apple vase DIY would b...

I recently shared Eleanor's first birthday party, and all the fun projects we did to make her day special. I just love planning a good celebration, so it seemed fitting that we put together a mini party for her one year photo shoot. This would be our final shoot with Jana Marie Photography. I'm telling you guys, she's a genius, and I love all the colorful fun images she captured during this session with our sweet girl. You can see our maternity, newborn, and 4 month shoot in previous posts.

The major ins...

Our little Eleanor Pearl turned one this year. First birthdays are a big deal, and such a special milestone to celebrate. We decided to have a big party with our family and friends. I went back and forth about different themes, and thought that a pearl and jewel party would be perfect. I wanted to add in a geometric element to keep it modern with lots of bright colors, and whimsical elements. I had so much help with this party including my husband of course, my mom who made tons of cupcakes, Small Batch...
