Baseball season is almost upon us. Here in Kansas City we're still riding a high from last years surprising turn of events. Who could've guessed on opening day that we'd be playing in the World Series? We love our KC Royals! We were having a shower for our friends sweet baby boy, and daddy to be is a huge Royals fan. It was only natural that we have a baseball themed baby shower.
I started with these adorable invitations from Hen&Co. that I found on Etsy (this is her example from her site). I wanted baseball themed invites that were still modern and fresh, nothing cheesy.
Decorating for a baseball themed shower ended up being much easier than I anticipated. My husband used to play, so we used his old gloves, and bats, and set them around along with some of my daughter's baby toys. I painted a giant wood P in the colors of the couples nursery.
I found some adorable baseball themed onesies that I couldn't help but snag. I used them as decor and then gave them to our friends after the shower for their little guy. I made these primary color pennant flags out of felt. They were so easy and added the perfect touch to the table decor.
The Royals used to have a guy at the ballpark who sold lemonade. He'd change "Lemonade, lemonade, lemonade, wooooo!" and everyone would yell with him. I thought a lemonade cocktail bar would be perfectly fitting for the occasion. I didn't spike the lemonade so guests could add as much or little as they like. We served mini hot dogs, nachos, and popcorn for appetizers to keep with the baseball theme. We had the always delicious Jack Stack BBQ for our main course.
We had so much fun celebrating our friends and their little guy on the way. Now who's ready for baseball season?
